Other Information:Henry lived at North View, Mickley, Stocksfield. His occupation was a miner at Mickley Colliery. He was a single man, who was 5 ft, 9 3/4 Inches tall. Henry was appointed by Northumberland County Constabulary on 12th February 1913 as PC 271, 3rd class constable, and was stationed at Whitley Bay. On the 30th June 1915, Henry resigned to join HMF and enlisted with the RAMC. He married Lottie Cooper of Dovecot Lane, Alnwick on the 12th July 1915. It is recorded that Henry was a nursing orderly and applied for release from the army to rejoin the police in late 1918 but was refused as he was working as a mental nurse at the Special Hospital for Officers, 11 Palace Green, Kensington, London. The Capt in charge said that his work was too important for him to be given early release. Henry did return to police service on the 3rd March 1919, he was stationed in Wallsend and Bellingham, then retired on pension on the 28th February 1945. Henry died at home, Lane Head, Coanwood, Hexham, Northumberland, his funeral was held on the 25th at the Methodist Church, Haltwhistle, followed by burial at Haltwhistle Cemetery.
