Augustus enlisted into the RAMC in August/September 1915, aged 25 years and 311 days. He was married on the 25th September 1915. Augustus was posted overseas on the 2nd August 1916, the photograph of Augustus was sent from France (Carte postale) dated 1st August 1917. Augustus was gassed whilst serving abroad and was granted a pension, he died from Influenzal Pneumonia. [Photograph kindly provided by family.
