James enlisted on 30th August 1915, and was embodied into the 1/2nd Northern General Hospital, Leeds. He was 43 years and 9 months old and a Tailor by trade. He was admitted into his unit on 25th August 1917 and died 6 days later of acute broncho-pneumonia. James was the husband of Clara Jane Jennings of 17 Tennant Street, Armley Road, Armley, Leeds.
