William was a student at Charing Cross Hospital, London and qualified L.S.A. in 1886. He held appointments as medical referee to several assurance companies, and was at one time a surgeon to the Royal West Indian Mail Stream Packet Co. He did not serve abroad. William died of pneumonia. He was the husband of Gertrude Compton of 17 York Road, Hove.
