Other Information:Herbert enlisted into the R.A.M.C. Territorial Force on 21st May 1909. He was residing at 78 Brook Road, Chatham and his occupation was a Fitters Mate. He mobilized on 4 August 1914 with the 1st Home Counties Field Ambulance and entered the war in France on 21st December the same year. Herbert served the war with the same unit but appears to have also served in Russia in 1920. He gave his mothers address as 78 Vernon Place, Chatham. Herbert was awarded the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal in May 1919. After the war he applied for employment with the Civil service.
