Other Information:John was embodied into the R.A.M.C. [T.F.] on 23rd April 1912. He was 18 years and 3 months old; a collier by trade; and living at 41 Crossley Road, Ravenhead, St Helens, Lancashire at the time. He entered the war in France on 4th May 1915. On 28th May 1915, he was promoted to Corporal. John was retained in service under the Military Service Act 1916 on 23rd April 1917. On the 27th April he was attached to the 1/4th Loyal North Lancs Regiment for water duty. He was the son of James and Elizabeth Lomax.
