Other Information:George enlisted into the R.A.M.C. (T.F.) on 20th May 1914, and was embodied into the 2nd West Lancashire Divisional Field Ambulance. He was 20 years and 7 months old; was a Clerk by trade; and was living at 3 Whitfield Terrace, Everton, Liverpool at the time. He entered the war in France, with his unit on 8th September 1915. George received a gun shot wound to his right thigh when he accompanied a party of bearers following a boarded track to get to an Aid Post, just to the right of Chateau Wood, and was carried back on a stretcher. He died at 7.00p.m. the same day in No 12 General Hospital, Rouen. He was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Leather.
