Other Information:

Thomas attested on 19th April 1915 and was embodied into the R.A.M.C. Territorial Force. He was 19 years old, and living at 24 Burnaby Street, Old Basford, Nottingham at the time. He embarked at Southampton on 27th October 1915, and was on board the troopship "Mercian", when it came under attack by a German U-boat on 3rd November 1915. Thomas was reported as missing until his body was found on the coast on 24th November. He was buried in the town cemetery on the 26th. Thomas was the son of Samuel and Betsy Ann Turner of 56 Cowley Street, Old Basford, Nottingham.
