Other Information:Victor was educated at Trinity College, qualifying in 1891, and was appointed the following year as an assistant medical officer to the District Asylum, Londonderry, where he had more than 20 years service. He travelled to China twice on account of indifferent health and was retired at the end of 1912. In May 1915, he applied for a commission in the R.A.M.C. and went to Egypt, arriving on 4th September 1915. He died of peritonitis at Suez. Victor was the youngest son of Rev. John Young Ruttledge, D.D. ex-Fellow of Trinity College, Dublin; and the husband of G M Ruttledge of "Ashlands" Glan Conway, Denbighshire.
