Other Information:George enlisted on 11th November 1915. He was 31 years and 4 months old; was a Weaver by trade; and was living in Clitheroe at the time. He joined at Cosham on the 13th November and was posted to serve with 6 Coy. On 11th July 1917 he transferred to the R.A.M.C. Depot in Blackpool, then on the 5th August embarked at Folkstone. Disembarking at Boulogne the same day, he then entrained for Rouen, arriving on the 7th August he joined the Cyclist's Base Depot there. He was posted to serve with the 1st Field Ambulance, joining them in the field on 10th August 1917. He was wounded in action on 28th September 1918, suffering a shell wound to his right leg but returned to duty the same day. On 27th June 1919 he was posted to serve with the 141st Field Ambulance. On 17th July 1919
he proceeded to No 1 Concentration Camp, Cologne for dispersal and was struck off the strength of the unit. On 18th August 1919 he was transferred to Class Z Reserves. He was the husband of Hannah Harrop.
