Other Information:Charles entered the war in France on 18th August 1914. He was killed, along with 75818 Pte Edwards, 79129 Pte Johnstone and 42382 Pte Robinson, by a direct hit from a high explosive. It was announced on the 7th October 1916 that he was to be awarded the Military Medal. Charles was the son of Thomas and Emily King, and the husband of Lois King of 51 Guinness Buildings, Page's Walk, Bermondsey, London.
