Other Information:

Frederick entered the war in France on 18th August 1914. On 19th March 1918 he qualified as both HQ and Company Gas Instructors - the remarks on both were "Very good". He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for devotion to duty in France, which was announced in the unit war diary on 22nd June 1918.
