Bert arrived in France on the 21st August 1914. He also served under the service number 1353. It is known that Bert served with his brother-in-law, John Barnfield. He lived in Cwn, Ebbw Vale, Monthmouthshire after the war. He was a miner in he Marine Colliery, Cwm. Bert served in the Home Guards during World War Two [Information kindly provided by family]
