Other Information:Philip was educated at Lancing and St Mary's Hospital, qualifying M.R.C.S., L..R.C.P. in 1901. He was later employed as Resident Anaesthetist, and Hon Physician & Clinical Assistant at the Throat Department at St Mary’s Hospital. On 1st September 1902 he joined the Indian Medical Services at the rank of Lieutenant, then served in India from 1903 to 1908, during which time he gain promotion to the rank of Captain on 1st September 1905. On 28th November 1908 he transferred to the R.A.M.C., joining at the rank of Captain. In 1910 he became a specialist in Midwifery & Gynaecology . On 1st March 1914 he gained promotion to the rank of Major, and was stationed in Aldershot at outbreak of war. Joining the 3rd Field Ambulance there, he disembarked with the unit at Boulogne, entering the war in France on 19th August 1914.
On 1st January 1915 it was advised he would be appointed Medical Officer in charge of Headquarters 1st Corps. He became Deputy Director of Medical Services, I Corps from 7th January 1915, but was invalided back to the UK later that year. Philip returned to overseas service in Salonika in 1916 to 1917. On 3rd June 1919 he was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire. He gained further promotion to the rank of Brevet Lieutenant Colonel on 29th December 1923, then Lieutenant Colonel on 21st June 1924. He retired on 15th February 1927, and ceased to be on the Roll of Officers on 15th December 1933. He died at Guilford, Surrey. He was the youngest son of John Easton M.D. and the husband of Winifred, the youngest daughter of Philip Witham - married in 1913.
