Other Information:Leonard enlisted on 13th October 1902. He was 21 years and 2 months old, and was a Plummer�s Mate by trade. He was posted to Army Reserve on 12th October 1905 but was mobilized at the outbreak of war. He joined at Aldershot, where he was posted to serve with the 2nd Field Ambulance. On the 18th August he embarked at Southampton with the unit, then disembarking at Boulogne the next day, entering the war in France on 19th August 1914. On 14th March 1915 he transferred to serve with No 2 Ambulance Flotilla, then on 29th September 1915 was transferred to Base Details. He returned to the UK on 11th October 1915 with instructions to report to the OC Depot in Aldershot for discharge on termination of service. He was discharged the following day. He was the son of George Cooper.
