Other Information:William enlisted into the Regular R.A.M.C. from the R.A.M.C. Special Reserve on 18th April 1913. He was 22 years and 10 months old, and was a Clerk by trade. He entered the war in France on 19th August 1914. He was evacuated to the UK on 29th March 1917, and was admitted into the 1st Southern General Hospital, Edgbaston, Birmingham, who diagnosed him unfit for service due to Meloncholia. He was discharged from the army on 27th August 1917. He was the son of James and Harriet North of 97 Wood Street, Burton-on-Trent.
