Other Information:Arthur enlisted on 27th August 1914. He was a collier by trade, and lived at 54 Haywood Park, Deepcar, near Sheffield. He embarked with the 71st Field Ambulance from Southampton on 26th August 1915 and disembarked in Le Havre, France the following day. He served with the 71st Field Ambulance in France until 7th November 1917 when the unit was transferred along with the rest of the 23rd Division to Italy, where they arrived on 12th November 1917. He died at the 24th Casualty Clearing Station from wounds he received in action. Arthur was the son of Richard and Sarah Lane Button. [Information researched and kindly provided by Chris Ludlam]
