Other Information:Frank enlisted on 10th December 1915. He was 19 years and 11 months old; was a Clerk by trade; and was living at 148 Wortley Road, High Green, Sheffield at the time. He embarked at Southampton on 14th June 1917, then disembarking at Rouen the next day, entered the war in France on 15th June 1917 as a reinforcement - joining the Cyclists Base Depot there. On 19th June he was posted to serve with the 101st Field Ambulance, in the field. On 25th October 1918, he was wounded in action, receiving a gun shot wound to his head, and was admitted into the 99th Field Ambulance. [The unit war diary records this as happening at Troisvilles. (transcribed and kindly provided by John T Smith)] He was evacuated to No 12 General Hospital, via the 45th and 18th Casualty Clearing Stations and No 31 Ambulance Train. On 2nd November 1918, he left Rouen for England on the Hospital Ship “Grantilly Castle” and was taken to the Northampton War Hospital at Duston, Northampton. He died there from Meningitis. Frank was the son of Frederick and Bertha A Hague of 159 Chapeltown Road, High Green, Sheffield.
