Other Information:

Alfred entered the war in France on the 18th July 1915. He was taken prisoner of war on the 10th April 1918 at Messines but died of dysentry in a POW camp at Charleville and was buried there. In 1962 he was re-buried at Terlincthun. Alfred was the son of Mrs Laura Burns of 151 Grove Road, Sparkhill, Birmingham, and the late Henry Burns.
