Robert enlisted on 7th September 1915. He was 34 years and 4 months old, was a draper by trade; and was living at 15 Whitehaugh Drive, Paisley at the time. He joined at Sheffield on the 13th and was posted to "S" Coy. He started his training at Eastbourne from the 24th. Robert was posted to serve with the 102nd Field Ambulance on 14th October 1915. He was the son of Robert and Mary Adam of 2 Greenlaw Avenue, Paisley; and the husband of Elizabeth Adam.
