Percy served from 1898 - 1902 in the 3rd Middlesex Volunteer Artillery and from 1903 - 1907 in the Middlesex Yeomany, he was discharged from both due to expiration of term. On the 25th October 1915, Percy joined the RAMC and was embodied into the 2nd London (City of London) Sanitary Section. He served in the UK until the 9th March 1916, when he embarked at Southampton for Harve, arriving on the 10th he joined the 47th London D.B.D. On the 28th May 1916 Percy left Harve for Rouen and was later posted to serve with 55 Sanitary Section. From this date he served in several medical units until he was finally posted to 83 Sanitary Section on the 17th March 1919. Percy was disembodied on demobilization on the 19th August 1919, but continued his Disembodied Service from the 20th August 1919 until finally leaving on the the 31st March 1920, his total service being 4 years and 159 days.
