Richard served in the war as 18327 Albert Taylor with the 3rd Bn. Royal Irish Regiment from 11th December 1914 to 26th February 1919. He enlisted into the R.A.M.C. on 13th May 1919 for General Service. He was 39 years and 236 days old at the time. He was posted to serve with the London Sanitary Company - 139th Sanitary Section. Richard was admitted into hospital suffering from a gastric ulcer. Ge was the son of Mr and Mrs Charles Topham of 59 Surrey Road, Darnall; and the husband of Polly Topham of 9 Court, 4 House, Bard Street Park, Sheffield.
