Other Information:

Joseph enlisted on 21st April 1902. He entered the war in France on 15th August 1914 with No 1 Ambulance Train. He was mentioned in despatches for his actions on 31st May 1915, and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for devotion to duty in France whilst serving with No 39 General Hospital. He was also awarded the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, as well as the Imperial Service Medal. [Information and photograph kindly provided by Joseph's family]
