Other Information:Ernest was educated at the Royal High School, and at Edinburgh University - entering as a student of medicine in 1895, he qualified M.B., C.M. in 1901. He gained a commission at the rank of Lieutenant in the R.A.M.C. on 31st August 1903 and was then was promoted to Captain on 28th February 1907. Ernest entered the war in France on 19th August 1914, as the medical officer for the Scots Greys. He was the only son of Henry Glanvill, late Registrar of the Inland Revenue, Estate Duty Department.
