Other Information:Wilfred received his medical education at Westminster Hospital, qualifying M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1903. On 31st July 1905 he joined the Medical Services at the rank of Lieutenant. He served in India from 1906 to 1912, during which he was promoted to Captain on 31st January 1909. In 1913, he became a specialist in midwifery and gynecology. Wilfred was stationed in Aldershot when war was declared. He entered the war in France on 13th August 1914 as the Regimental Medical Officer of the 1st Bn. Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. On 6th November 1914 he transferred to become the Medical Officer in charge of the Divisional Train. He remained here until 15th February 1915 when he was admitted into hospital with the flu. On 18th September 1915 he served under the rank of temporary Major, gaining the rank of Major on the 15th October, however served under the rank of temporary Lieutenant Colonel from 15th October to 29th November 1915, and acting Lieutenant Colonel from 21st November 1918 to 2nd March 1919. He returned to India in 1919 and served there until 1920 when he was invalided. On 25th April 1925 he was reverted to half pay due to ill heath, and finally retired due to ill health on 31st July 1925.
