Other Information:Ebenezer enlisted on 28th September 1904. He was 18 years and 6 months old, and was a Messenger by trade. On 1st October 1911 he was appointed Lance Corporal, then gained promotion to the rank of Corporal on 1st January 1913. He entered the war in France on 23rd August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Royal Dublin Fusiliers. On 11th September 1914 he was admitted into No 3 General Hospital, then the following day was admitted into a convalescent camp. He was invalided back to England a few days later, on the 18th, then admitted into Netley Hospital, Southampton. On 22nd October 1915 he disembarked in Malta, attached to No 61 General Hospital. He was promoted to the rank of Serjeant on April 1916, then was appointed acting Staff Sergeant on 27th September 1916. On 11th July 1917 he disembarked in Salonika, still serving with No 61 General Hospital. He was stuck off their strength on 16th December 1918, then reported for duty with No 63 General Hospital on 3rd January 1919. On 18th February 1919 he embarked for the UK. He was transferred to Class "Z" Army Reserve on demobilization on 3rd April 1919.
