Awarded the Albert Medal on 5 February 1917 with Pte James CUTHBERTSON - 3rd Malta Convoy RAMC, a/QMS James BROWN - 30 Company RAMC and Sgt William SEYMOUR - 2nd Northumberland Fusiliers - Rescued three seaman from fire which followed a serious explosion abord the French troopship St Laurent in harbour at Malta.
