Other Information:

George enlisted on 1st November 1915. He was 22 years and 8 months old, a clerk by trade, and was living at 24 Spalding Road, Nottingham at the time. He was posted to 'S' Coy on 7th. On 31st May 1916, George embarked at Southampton, then disembarking at Rouen, he entered the war in France on 2nd June. He was posted to serve with the 106th Field Ambulance, in the field, but on 25th July became ill with influenza. He was admitted into No 21 Casualty Clearing Station, then transferred to No 4 General Hospital via Ambulance Train. On 9th August 1916, he travelled on H.M.H.S. "Dieppe" back to England as a casualty. On 24th September 1916, George was posted to serve on H.M.H.S. "Britannic", and was on the ship when she struck a mine, laid by the U-73, in the Zea Channel, in the Aegean Sea. He was the son of William and Elizabeth Bostock of Nottingham; and the husband of Ada Bostock of Sneinton Dale, Nottingham.
