Other Information:Samuel enlisted on 21st October 1916, he was 38 years and 4 months old, a labourer by trade, and living at 14 North Street. Oundle at the time. He served in the UK until the 17th April 1917, when he was posted to serve on the Eastern Front. He was on board the Hired Transport "Transylvania", when it was proceeding to Egypt with reinforcements, and was sunk by a torpedo by the German U-boat U-63 off Cape Vado, a few kilometres south of Savona.
