Other Information:Frank enlisted on 9th February 1915 and was embodied into the East Anglian Casualty Clearing Station, Territorial Force. He was living at 5 Ipswich Road, Woodbridge at the time. He gained the rank of acting Serjeant on 8th March 1915, then was promoted to the rank of Serjeant on 30th July 1915 when he embarked on the "Royal Edward" at Devonport. He then arrived at Alexandria on the 11th August and set sail to Gallipoli the next day. Frank's body was never found and was believed to have drowned on the sinking of H.M.T. "Royal Edward" on passage from Alexandria to Gallipoli. He was the son of Rowland Hill, J.P., and Jenny Rowland of Woodbridge, Suffolk; and the husband of Elsie Eve Rowland of "Broadleaze" Eastbourne.
