Other Information:John enlisted on 7th August 1914 and was embodied into the 1st East Anglian Divisional Field Ambulance, Territorial Force. He was 26 years and 5 months old; was a Labourer by trade; and was living at Bramford, Ipswich at the time. On 20th August 1914, John transferred to the East Anglian Casualty Clearing Station. He embarked on the "Royal Edward" at Devonport on 30th July 1915, then arrived at Alexandria on the 11th August. He set sail to Gallipoli the next day. John's body was never found and was believed to have drowned on the sinking of H.M.T. "Royal Edward" on passage from Alexandria to Gallipoli.
