Other Information:Ernest had been employed by Messrs. Cudworth and Company, coach body builders. He entered the war in Egypt on 11th August 1915. He was onboard H.M. Transport Ship 'Royal Edward' when it was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UB-14. He was the husband of Mrs. Howarth of 3 Perth Street, Burnley, and the father of three children, all of whom were under the age of 4 years in September 1915.
