Other Information:

Fred had been a member of the Healey Wood and St. Paul’s Sunday Schools, and the Healey Wood Football Team. He was employed as a loomer at Messrs. Maxfield’s Springfield Road Mill. He entered the war in Egypt on 11th August 1915. He was onboard H.M. Transport Ship 'Royal Edward' when it was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine UB-14. He was the son of Simon and Martha H Wilkinson of 490 Accrington Road, Burnley.
