Other Information:Frederick enlisted on 5th October 1915. He was 19 years and 9 months old, and was a house decorator by trade. On enlistment he was posted to 19 Coy where he served until 18th November 1916, when he was transferred to V Coy. On 26th December 1916 he was posted to East Africa as a reinforcement, embarking on the Hospital Transport 'Nester', then transhipped to H.M.T 'Aragen' on 26th February 1917. He finally disembarked in Dar-es-Salam on 26th February 1917 and was posted to serve with the 19th Stationary Hospital. Due to several admissions to hospital suffering with malaria during the next few months Frederick was invalided back to England on 2nd December. On 18th March 1918 he was posted to the 2nd Training Battalion, Blackpool where he served until 26th August 1918, when he was transferred to 6 Coy. On 20th October 1918 he embarked at Folkestone as part of reinforcements. He disembarked at Boulogne then reported to the line of communication on the 22nd. On 29th October 1918 he was posted to serve with No 1 Native Labour General Hospital, Dieppe, serving there until 28th February 1919, when he was transferred to serve with No 5 Stationary Hospital. On 4th March 1919 he was posted to No 8 General Hospital, in readiness to embarked for England on 7th. He was discharged from the Army on 26th April 1919.
