Other Information:

John had previously served in the South African Campaign. He entered the war in France on 11th May 1915 serving under the rank of Serjeant Major. He gained a commission at the rank of Lieutenant Quartermaster on 23rd July 1915. His medals were sent to Mrs E M Pritchard of Bank Croft, Herefordshire, who was the guardian of his son Cecil Fry.
