Joseph lived at 14 Wareing Street, Widnes. He was educated at Simms Cross School and was a member of St Paul's church. He enlisted in Blackpool, Lancashire in September, 1916 and served in the RAMC as a Medical Orderly. Joseph was the son of Mr & Mrs William Bibby.
