Other Information:

Arthur entered the war in France on 14th August 1914, as part of the Regimental Medical Officer's team for the 1st Bn. Northumberland Fusiliers. His name appears on a list of R.A.M.C. personnel who were taken captive up to & including 31st December 1914. His address was given as 15 Eversley Road, Normacot, Longton, Staffs. - (kindly provided by Steve Mattocks). He was captured at Las Framiers (Mons) on 24th August 1914, then taken to the prisoner of war camp 'Lubeck' in Germany on 18th September 1914. On 28th September 1914 he was transferred to the POW camp "Gustrow'. After the war Arthur received the General Service Medal and clasp for services in Afghanistan (NWF 1919).
