Andrew lived at 9 Foremans Row, Seaton Delavel when his occupation was a miner. He was married with one child. Between 1903-1906 Andrew served with Tynemouth Royal Garrison Artillery Volunteer Band. He was appointed by Tynemouth Borough Police on 27th November 1906 as PC 53, and stationed Central Patrol. He lived at 15 Spence Terrace, North Shields. On the 29th November 1910 he was Central Reserve. Andrew was also paid as a fireman. Andrew resigned on the 6th June 1915 to join HMF, he served 3 years and 10 months. On 1st October 1918, Andrew returned to police service. He was promoted to Temporary Sergeant on 2nd June 1924, and again to Sergeant Central Patrol on 7th April 1925. On 2nd November 1933, Andrew retired on pension, he was living at 3 Glendale Avenue, North Shields. On 29th October 1934, he was appointed 1st Police reserve, his number was 22. On the 29th June 1945, he asked to resign as his wife was in poor health and he had to look after her, at this time he was 64 years of age - Resignation accepted. Andrew died in 1947.
