Other Information:

First went to France 22nd August 1915 and served as a Pte in the R.A.M.C. from March 1915 until August 1917. Applied for a Regular Army Commission on 11th August 1916. Joined the 2nd Bn. RF near Arras on 26th May 1917. Was known as Sydney on account of his father being named George as well. [Information provided by his Great Nephew, Nick Powley.]
