Hi, I am currently researching the family history of my husband, Michael Daly, whose great grandfather was Francis Dermot Daly. Francis had a number of children, including Annie Cecilia Daly -- mother of John Errol Moritz Boyd and wife of Lt Col Herbert Boyd. Unfortunately, this Francis Dermot Daly was not the same Francis Dermot Daly of the 4th light Dragoons, although he was his nephew. Annie's father Francis Dermot Daly was a bank manager in India, and the son of Richard Daly -- younger brother of the Francis Dermot Daly of the Light Dragoons. I presume that the younger Francis Dermot Daly was named in honour of his uncle! And of course Francis Dermot Daly of the Light Dragoons was father of General Sir Henry Daly.
