Frank Davis Rainbow was born in Bodicote, Oxfordshire in January 1893, the son of Francis Rainbow of Bodicote and Dinah Davies of Mathon, Herefordshire.
In 1901, aged 8 years old, he was living with his parents and 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers in Park Farm Cottage, Mathon, Herefordshire. At 18 years old he was working as a Domestic Gardener, living with his family in Pump Street, Harbury, Warwickshire.
He enlisted in Glossop, Derbyshire and was assigned to the 55th Field Ambulance. He entered the war with the unit on 27th July 1915.
Frank was with the unit, supporting during The Second Battle of Bapaume when he met his death.
