After the war he. America back to Broxburn West Lothian and worked for the rest of his life with the local draper, Smith. He died in 1949. He left a widow, Daisy, nee Taplin, who he met in Hartley Witney, and 4 children, including my mother, Helen. I just remember him, but from all accounts he was a well liked and respected person in the area. I remember my mother saying that he did not speak of the war.
