Ivo resided at Chapel Cottage Gallants Lane East Farleigh. He worked as a Cricket Ball maker. He enlisted with the 1st Home Counties RAMC TF on 27th March 1915. He was sent to France on the 23rd January 1917 and arrived at Le Havre on the 24th January 1917 and served with the 2/1st Home Counties FA. Whilst on duty with the London 8th Division he was badly mustard gassed at Villiers Bretonneux near Amiens on 18th April 1918. He remained at duty. He was discharged on 23rd March 1919. In 1939 he was still a cricket ball stitcher at Readers in Teston.
