Alfred Bush Had been stationed at Nasrieh School Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. He sailed from Alexandria on 14th August 1915 arriving at Mundros on the 17th. The Regiment then sailed for Gallipoli landing at Beach A, Suvla Bay at 9pm on the 20th August. They arrived at Lala Baba at 3am on the morning of the 21st. They left their bivovacs at 4pm over a plain covered with scrub and grass. By 5pm after marching about two miles forward there were many casualties and so opened up an advanced dressing station about one mile from Chocolate Hill and one other east of that place. The Sgt. Major and 3 other men were wounded early (all seriously).
