DAVID PARRY - Thomas's Brother
David was born at 20 Griffith St, Aberdare on the 27 December 1873. On the 20 March 1915, He joined the army at Merthyr Tydfil and was posted to the Army Service Corps Depot at Ormskirk. He was a grocer's assistant aged 38 years and 90 days. He was 5' 2" tall and weighed 137 lbs. His chest measured 38 1/2" with an expansion range of 2 1/2". His physical development was very good. He had been vaccinated in infancy. He had 6/6 vision in both eyes. His regimental number was R/4/063518. On the 3 July 1915, He was promoted to corporal. On the 7 July 1917, 28 November 1917 and 28 May 1918 - He underwent medical examinations and was in category B1. On the final occasion he was in Ormskirk. 16 July 1919 - He was SQMS 77063518 in No. 6 Squadron RASC Remounts when his discharge statement of disability was completed in Ormskirk. He was aged 45 and his medical category was B1. He had not served overseas and he had no disability. His home address was 5 Newton Terrace, Twynyrodyn, Merthyr Tydvil (Army form W5783). After the death of his wife, David went to live with his married daughter Winnifred. On the 17 March 1943 - He was a retired grocers shop manager when he died aged 68 at 30A Cowbridge Rd, Cardiff, of (a) Tabes Dorsalis and (b) Specific Disease. He had been living at 1 Sully Terrace, Penarth. His son-in-law, W G Arthur, of 1 Sully Terrace, Penarth, advised the registrar the same day. He was buried in Penarth
