Cecil resided at 26 Wellington Street Kettering. He enlisted with the 1st Home Counties Field Ambulance T.F. on the 27th July 1915. He was sent to France on the 23rd January 1917 and arrived at Le Havre on 24th January 1917 and served with the 2/1st Home Counties Field Ambulance. He was discharge on the 30th March 1919.
