Gordon enlisted on 14th September 1914 and was embodied into the 26th Field Ambulance. He embarked at Southampton on 5th November 1914, then disembarking at Havre the next day he entered the war in France on 6th November 1914. Gordon was appointed temporary acting Lance Cpl on 1st June 1915, then appointed Lance Corporal, with pay on 18th September 1916. He died from wounds received in action in 44 Casualty Clearing Station. Gordon was the son of Gordon and Harriett Minns; and the husband of Florence Minns of 14 St. James Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
