Other Information:James lived at 219 Manwood Road, Brockley, London, he was single and by trade a salesman. He was ‘deemed to have enlisted’ on the 24th April 1918 and was mobilized on 4th July 1918. The following day he was posted to 2nd Training Battalion, R.A.M.C. at Blackpool. On 27th November 1918 he was admitted to the East Leeds War Hospital (now St James University Hospital) with a longstanding chest problem (Tuberculosis). At the time his unit was No 8 Coy. He was discharged from the army on 30th January 1919 classed as no longer physically fit for war service.
