Other Information:William enlisted on 5th November 1914. He was 28 years and 342 days old, and was a Clerk by trade. He was given the rank of Corporal as soon as he joined, and was promoted to the rank of Serjeant on 1st April 1915. He did not serve abroad. William was admitted into the Falmouth Military Hospital on 16th September 1918 with tubercle of the lung. On the 24th September he was discharged “No longer physically fit for war service. He was the son of Thomas Edward and Maria Swadling; and the husband of Olive Ellen Swadling of 2 Boslowick Road, Swanvale, Falmouth.
