Harry was educated at St John-at-Hackney Grammar School, and at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London - entering as a student in 1899, he obtained the diplomas M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P. in 1907. He then served as a house-surgeon to the Bedford County Hospital. as house-physician to the West End Hospital for Nervous Diseases, as house-physician to the Hospital for Women, Soho, and as resident medical officer to the City of London Lying-in Hospital. He was in charge of the Preston Hall Hospital, Maidstone when war broke out. Harry gained a temporary commission as lieutenant in the R.A.M.C. in August 1915. He saw active service in the UK. He died of pyaemia contracted whilst holding an appointment at Preston Hall Military Hospital, Aylesford. Harry was the son of Harry Pickford and Emily Kimbell of Dalston.
